 | About MeI currently reside in Hickory, NC- I just love being so close to the mountains! I grew up in Jacksonville, Fl but took frequent family vacations to the mountains of NC and TN. I loved the mountain areas so much that I decided to attend college in NC. I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College with a BSN in 1993. I liked it so much that I have returned to to Lenoir-Rhyne (no it's a university) to obtain a MSN in Nursing Administration. InterestsMy professional focus is primarily obstetrics. I spent 14 of the last 17 years as a labor/delivery/post-partum nurse. I have worked the gamut from Level 1 low-risk mother/baby to Level 3 high-risk. During my time as a l&d nurse, I taught childbirth & breastfeeding classes, performed in the charge nurse/team leader role, and precepted local nursing students and new employees. In 2012, I changed directions and left OB, entering Risk Management. My current position is a Risk Analyst at a 250+ bed, stand-alone community hospital. I analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual trends as well as maintain the daily runnings of the hospital incident reporting system. |
Aspirations
My goal is to obtain my MSN in the fall of 2015 and obtain a leadership role. Eventually, I want to do lots of traveling around the world!
